Also, Comodo will initiate the validation process for the new EV certificates based on the new guidelines*. If your EV validation is successful, your certificate is upgraded to either a 1 or 2 year EV certificate.
If EV validation is not successful you will get a high assurance SSL certificate which will continue to protect your site and provide your customers with identity assured security.
The EV SSL Certificate Validation Process.

Currently, industry guidelines established by the CA/B Forum, have determined that EV SSL certificates are available only as a 1 or 2 year term. Further, all certification authorities issuing EV SSL certificates will be subscribing to a consistent set of validation standards. Therefore, business not meeting EV validation requirements will not eligible for an EV SSL certificate from any EV issuing certification authority. For validation requirements, please refer questions to sales department. (Click for more info on EV SSL Certificates.)
** Terms: Offer good through December 30, 2006. Offer limited to single domain certificates and direct e-merchants only. Maximum term two years. EV validation guidelines are determined by an outside standards body, and Comodo must comply with all stated guidelines. Therefore, it is possible that some e-merchants may not qualify for an EV SSL certificate through Comodo or any other issuing body. In these cases. e-merchants will obtain a Comodo High Assurance SSL certificate for three years. EV SSL certificate term is 12 months in addition to current term from issue date. The upgrade price is subject to change at any time at Comodo’s sole discretion.
* EV SSL Certificates incorporate a new standardized vetting process that may not allow all e-merchants to obtain these certificates. These standards may change at anytime without prior notice based on industry requirements. For validation requirements, please contact sales.
